Welcome to Our Farm!

Here at Peculiar Pastures Farm, we raise registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats on 10 acres in Peculiar, Missouri. About 30 minutes south of Kansas City, Missouri.

At the moment we breed our goats once a year, for spring kids. They produce quality offspring with friendly temperaments and unique personalities. The kids are ideal for small home dairies, would do great in the show ring, or make lovable pets. We do all their disbudding, tattooing, vaccinations, and castrations on the farm. Our goats are dual registered in the American Goat Society (AGS) and the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). They have excellent bloodlines and are structurally sound. Some are polled and some have blue eyes. We have a very diverse array of coat colors, however silver is our favorite. Patterns such as pinto, chamoisee, and moon spots are common in our herd.

Our does produce some of the best milk, the taste is very comparable to whole cows milk! Very smooth with a creamy sweetness (no goaty flavor). These goats are the best choice for homesteaders with limited land, people wanting to get into cheese making, a home dairy, or who just want to get started with goats!

Our goal here on our farm is far from get rich. We would just like our animals to help pay for their needs. Their yearly upkeep such as hay, loose mineral, annual blood testing, routine worm testing, and whatever else they might need. We are a small farm, with roughly 16 goats total (sometimes much more, sometimes a little less). We blood test annually for CL + CAE + Johnes + Q fever. Keeping a happy and healthy herd is far from cheap. We rely on the sales of our goats to help provide for the existing herd. Any money we make from our goats go directly back to them.

Again all of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats can be registered with ADGA and AGS, kids will come with both registration applications unless purchased without papers for a discount. Most of our adults we sell usually range from $350 and up, they will already be dual registered. My adults are normally milk stand trained (we use a milk machine) and easy to handle. I prefer to not sell my adults without their papers, but will make exceptions based on the goat and the reason for selling.

Kids can leave at 10-12 weeks of age unless they are ready to go sooner, or able to be bottle fed in which case they can leave sooner upon buyers request. Our kids are usually dam raised, but at times are supplemented with a bottle. Kids will receive their CDT vaccine, a coccidia prevention treatment, and be dewormed if needed before going to their new homes. We often have unrelated doelings and bucklings available that can be bred to each other as adults, if any one is interested in a breeding pair or trio. Purchase price of registered doelings range from $300 and up, Purchase price of registered bucklings range from $200 and up. Wethers are $50 each at this time.

We take alot of pride in our herd, and the goats we sell. Aiming to price our goats affordably. So others can have quality dairy goats that will meet or exceed expectations at their new homes. We are appointment only, as we do not want people showing up unexpectedly to our farm. (Please understand this is our home, and we do have jobs, appointments, and lives outside our farm). However we do encourage buyers to make an appointment with us, so you can come see our goats first hand.
